Voted the Best Kids’ Park in the World!
Idlewild is the oldest operating amusement park in the state of Pennsylvania. Since 1878, parkgoers have come to appreciate the natural beauty of the wooded landscape that Idlewild calls home. The park joined the Kennywood family in 1983 and has thrived with continued expansion since. Despite its title as the Best Kids’ Park in the World, Idlewild has plenty of things to do for guests of all ages. The park is divided into seven areas: Storybook Forest, a historic walk-through area based on children’s stories; Jumpin’ Jungle, a large play area featuring large climbing structures, slides, and other activities; Hootin’ Holler, an old west town featuring themed shops, restaurants and rides; the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, home to a one-of-a-kind ride based on the classic WQED children’s series; Olde Idlewild, the main section of the park and home to most of its classic rides; Raccoon Lagoon, the park’s kiddie ride area; and SoakZone, a family-friendly waterpark.
